COMPOSITE MANIFOLD INSULATOR TO SUIT V6 VS & VT ECOTEC

COMPOSITE MANIFOLD INSULATOR TO SUIT V6 VS & VT ECOTEC

Want to increase low end power of your EcoTec by a by a staggering 10% and top end grunt by +5kw? Then look no further as this mod will make your car have low down punch similar to that of the Buick V6’s (pre EcoTec engine) all at the fraction of the price of other cold air intakes which can be cost over $500 an still not achieve the same result as our product!
Please Note: Will not suit (L67) Super Charged Motors,

This Engineered,
and design-registered manifold insulator for VS-VT will provide a range of benefits as listed below:

Key benefits:

  • Produces a cooler intake and intake manifold charge resulting in more power.

  • A cooler intake charge also reduces the tendency for detonation, meaning more ignition timing or boost for more power!

  • Improve low end torque by increasing runner length

  • Better fuel economy

  • Reusable over and over again.

  • No undesirable side effects

What are manifold insulators and what do they do?
Manifold insulators are a thermal insulating spacer that mounts between your upper and lower intake manifold. Made from a heat blocking composite, our manifold insulators will increase power from your engine by keeping the intake cooler, and increase low end torque by increasing runner length.

But how do manifold insulators keep the intake manifold cooler?

Given our manifold insulators are made from a composite material with a thermal conductivity of 0.29 W/m*K as opposed to aluminium, which has a thermal conductivity of 150 W/m*K; The difference work about to be that aluminum conducts heat 500 times higher then our composite material!

Also, with gaskets often made out of steel (20 W/m*K thermal conductivity), placed between the upper and lower manifolds, replacing a .5mm gasket with a 10mm manifold insulator will conduct an amazing 1087 times less heat (yes, that's over 100,000% reduction!). What this basically means is that it becomes very difficult for the engine to heat up the manifold, which ultimately means more power for extended periods (i.e. considerably fewer heat soak issues)!

Our composite material also exhibits high stiffness and compressive strength, can withstand temperatures up to nearly 150°C, and has a thermal expansion coefficient very similar to aluminum to increase sealing capabilities. In addition, the spacer can also withstand boosted conditions with ease.

    Dyno Results

The following test was conducted on a 1996 Holden Commodore VS with head and cam work. Normally the problem of low down torque is made worse when you stick a larger cam (with more overlap) in any engine as you effectively shift the power band. However by looking at the graph, we can see that power produced down low had increased by a staggering 10%, with top-end increasing by a further 2kw at the rears! Please note that these results don’t reflect the true nature of the on road gains given the lack of actual airflow, which further drop inlet temps…

Under these normal driving conditions the plenum (upper manifold), with the insulator in place, becomes cool enough to comfortably touch. Unlike before, without the manifold insulator under the same driving conditions, making it very difficult to touch without getting burned!

    So what’s included?

Included is the manifold insulator, longer plenum bolts, injector rail spaces, gasket and gasket sealer. Basically everything you need to install the insulator.

    What about Installation?

Installation is very straight forward, requiring only the removal of your plenum (upper manifold) and injector rails to install the manifold insulator and injector rail spaces as shown below (manifold not included, injector rails not shown).
